God’s love proven on the cross

We never have to worry about if we’re loved by God or not. He has proven His love for us on the cross of Jesus Christ. Take a moment to think about this amazing truth. The Father sent His only Son, His sinless Son, His perfect Son, and His obedient Son to the cross. There was nothing that Jesus wouldn’t do for His Father and there was nothing His Father wouldn’t do for Him.

Please take a moment to ponder their immense love for one another. A love that would drive Jesus to the cross to glorify His Father. However, not only that, a love that would drive Jesus to the cross to atone for your sins. We’ve all sinned against God. We can hear this statement and not understand the gravity of it. We’ve all sinned against the sovereign holy Creator of the universe. A Creator who demands holiness and perfection because He is holy and perfect.

We deserve God’s wrath. Justice is required. Why you ask? Because He is holy and just. Justice is an attribute of God. Sin is a crime against God and because of who the offense is against, it deserves a severe punishment. It doesn’t matter if we attempt to do good things to try to escape the punishment. Doing good deeds does not eradicate the sin that stands between you and God. Only Christ eradicates sin. Only God in flesh can live the perfect life that we could not.

While hell was staring you in the face, Jesus took your place. Christ has removed your shackles and He put His self in the position where you should be. Now, you can enjoy Christ and grow in intimacy with Him. Now, there is nothing blocking you from God. Christians are given eternal life and because of the work of Jesus, they have escaped hell. Bible verses about the love of God

I love the quote, “The Bible is God’s love letter to us.” Scripture tells us about God’s love, but even more so, we notice what He has done to demonstrate His deep and astounding love for us. Throughout the Old and New Testament, we see demonstrations and glimpses of God’s love. If we look closely, we can see the gospel of Jesus Christ in every Old Testament passage.

In the prophetical story of Hosea and Gomer, Hosea purchased his unfaithful bride. He paid an expensive price for a woman who was already his. Read the story of Hosea and Gomer. Don’t you see the gospel? God, who already owns us, bought us with a high price. Similar to Hosea, Christ went into the most treacherous places to find His bride. When He found us, we were filthy, unfaithful, we came with baggage, and we were unworthy of love. However, Jesus took us, bought us, washed us, and clothed us in His righteousness.

Christ poured out love and grace and He treated us as precious. He gave us the opposite of what we deserve. We have been rescued and set free by the blood of Christ. Find joy in every trial. This can be difficult at times because we’re always looking towards self, when we should be looking towards God. Let’s pray for more of His supernatural love and comfort during the trials we face.

Let’s pray for wisdom and guidance. Let’s pray for God’s encouragement. Let’s remember that God is always working in us and in our situation. Trials are an opportunity to see God’s power on display and sense His presence. There is beauty in every trial if we look to Him and rest in Him.

Struggling to believe the love of God

If you’re anything like me, you’ve struggled to believe that God loves you the way that He says He does. The reason for this is that, we often tend to find joy in our performance on our walk with Christ, instead of finding joy in the finished work of Christ. God doesn’t need anything from you. He just desires you.

Look at all the intimate moments of love that we have in this world. Love between husband and wife. Love between parents and children. Love between friends. This is only possible because of His love for you. God’s love is infinitely greater than any type of earthly love that we may see or experience. God’s love is the only reason why love is possible.

When you’re struggling with sin, don’t think that He doesn’t love you. You don’t have to put yourself in a spiritual time-out or try to read the Bible a little more for Him to love you. No, run to Him, cling to Him, pray for help and wisdom, and believe His love for you. Don’t believe the lies of the enemy. You are so loved! You can’t surprise God. He knew that you were going to be messy at times. However, He still deeply loves you. He has proven His love for you on the cross of Jesus Christ.

I encourage you to preach the gospel to yourself daily and believe what the Bible says about your identity in Christ. You are loved, valuable, cherished, and redeemed.
