Unfortunately, there are negative changes too however, it is all part of our earthly life and we learn to accept and move forward with these changes. The Bible also talks extensively about change.

In fact, God has a lot to say about change. With God, it is all about new beginnings, He delights in change. So here are some powerful verses on new beginnings that are sure to bless your life.

Christian quotes about new beginnings

“You must learn, you must let God teach you, that the only way to get rid of your past is to make a future out of it. God will waste nothing.” Phillips Brooks

“Each morning is a new beginning of our life. Each day is a finished whole. The present day marks the boundary of our cares and concerns. It is long enough to find God or lose Him, to keep faith or fall into disgrace.” — Dietrich Bonhoeffer

When God gives you a new beginning, it starts with an ending. Be thankful for closed doors. They often guide us to the right one.

A new creation in Christ

The most radical change that can ever come upon a person, is becoming a new creation in Christ. Talk about THE new beginning!

The God who made us also can remake us.

When Christ came to earth as a man, His goal was to change the hearts and minds and lives of every single human being to walk this world then and now. With His great sacrifice on the cross and His victory over death, we can have a new life in this life and in the life to come.

The good news is that we don’t have to wait for this change, we can have this new beginning any day, anywhere. And what’s more, from that day onward, we experience daily changes in our lives that make us more like Christ in every way. We don’t just become better people, but we find peace, love, and joy. Who doesn’t want a new beginning that brings so much good to our lives? But perhaps the most rewarding part is that we become completely new; a new creation.

Forget about the past, that has been erased for good. What God has for us is good and beautiful. The future holds the blessings of the Lord and there is assurance in that, no matter what troubles may lay ahead. We have so much to look forward to because God cleanses us from all sin and makes us more like Himself. This new beginning closes the door to our past and opens the door to eternity.

1. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
are become new.”

2. Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT)
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart,
but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”

3. Ephesians 4:22-24 (ESV)
“to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful
desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”

4. Ezekiel 11:19 (KJV)
“And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out
of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh”

5. Romans 6:4 (NKJV)
“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from
the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

6. Colossians 3:9-10 (NKJV)
“Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.”

God’s new work in us

The Lord promises to give us new hearts and new minds when we decide to surrender our lives to Him. What does this mean? This means that our old self is put to death and we become new people. It means that if we were vile, impatient, easily angered, lustful, liars, gossipers, idolatrous, proud, envious, thieves, and more that we put it all out of our lives and don’t practice it anymore.

The closer we get to God the more disinterested we will become to indulge in our former sins. But the beautiful part is that God wants to make us pure and holy like Himself. I hope you can grasp the full picture and what it entails. God, the Creator of the universe wants to make us like Himself!

He could have chosen another creature to bestow this honor and privilege but He chose the human and the least we could do is allow Him to do His great work in us. Want to hear the good news? He has already begun!

7. Isaiah 43:18-19 (NLT)
“But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something
new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

8. Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things
which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

9. Isaiah 65:17 (NKJV)
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come
to mind.”

10. Isaiah 58:12 (ESV)
“And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you
shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.”

11. Acts 3:19 (ESV)
“Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out

12. Ezekiel 36:26 (KJV)
“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.”

The Lord’s new mercies

The Lord is too good that even when we fail and fail again, He still chooses to give us another chance. His mercies are new every morning and every day is a new beginning.

No matter how hard the past you can always begin again.

We get a clean slate every day and every moment after we confess and repent of our sins. God is not like law enforcement, keeping track of all our infractions and waiting for the next ticket to call us to court. No, God is just yes, but He is also merciful.

13. Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV)
It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

14. Hebrews 4:16 (KJV)
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to
help in time of need.”

15. 1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

New life changes

Life changes are inevitable. They can be good or they can be bad and we’ve all had both at some point. But I want to tell you that God knows, and He allows change to come. Change is good, even when it seems bad. Sometimes bad change is needed to test our faith, but you can be sure that God truly has it under control.

Remember Job? He was stripped from all his wealth and health, and his children all died. But God was watching. And guess what? After his trial, the Lord gave him more than what he previously possessed. Change is meant to polish you, make you shine brighter. So, thank God for change because it all works together for good to those who love God!

16. Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to
give you a future and a hope.”

17. Revelation 21:5 (NIV)
“He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

18. Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV)
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every
weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

19. Romans 12:2 (KJV)
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

When change brings anxiety

Sometimes, change can make us anxious. It’s especially true when it’s out of our comfort zone. We are afraid of the unknown; we are afraid of failure. And during the change it may be difficult to focus on the positive, it seems like our minds are attracted to worry. If anyone understands this feeling better than anyone else, it is myself. I don’t do well with change and I am a professional in anxiety.

don’t say this with pride. But I am learning to rely on God when it is difficult.
Inevitable change is good because it forces us to depend on God, it’s hard but it is good. God is trying to show you that you can leave the burden on His shoulders, let Him do the worrying. Rest on His strength and on His mighty power to carry you through this new change. I know this is cliché but if God brought you to it, He will get you through it.

20. Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

21. Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that
doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

22. Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

23. Matthew 6:25 (ESV)
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor
about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?”

24. Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

A new thanksgiving

We have a new gratitude toward God for all of His bountiful blessings. His salvation of our souls, His daily mercies, His new changes in our lives, and the hope of Heaven. This life is riddled with change but our biggest change is our eternal beginning in the life to come. We have so much to be thankful
for.

Every morning is a new chance to show our gratefulness toward the Lord. It is a huge privilege to be able to express our thanksgiving to God because it blesses us. I think King David understood it best when he danced for the Lord, thankfulness makes you do that. Have you thanked the Lord today?

25. Psalm 100:1-4 (NLT)
“Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing
with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.”

We’ve looked together at 25 verses about new beginnings and we have seen the many ways in which the Lord manifests change in us. But do you realize that in order for us to be living this life today, someone had to go through the most painful change? Our Heavenly Father had to give up His only beloved son. And Jesus Christ had to give up His very own life.

I pray that we may not make light of the significance of our salvation. Because when we are met with God’s sweet redemption, we need to understand how precious the cost was. And our worth is that much more valuable. Though change and new beginnings come and go, one thing remains the same; the character of God and His unshifting love.
