Bible verses about giving to the poor
Scripture tells us that it’s always more blessed to give than receive. Christians should always give to the homeless and needy. God loves a cheerful giver. Christians are to be kindhearted and loving with everyone even with our enemies. If we have it and a poor man asks for something and we don’t help, how is God’s love in us?
Think about it. We have money to buy our favorite sweets, to rent a DVD, to splurge on things, but when it comes to someone other than ourselves it becomes a problem.
When it comes to others selfishness starts to kick in. We are told to be imitators of Christ. Was Christ thinking only about Himself when He died on the cross? No!
God has given you the opportunity to be a blessing to someone. Scripture makes it clear that when your heart is set on blessing others, God will bless you in the process.
If you were in need wouldn’t you want someone to help you? Instead of judging, ask yourself that question whenever you see the needy. Always remember that those in need are Jesus in disguise.

Thank you so much, I really had a problem with this, because there are so many scammers in my city. You reminded me not to judge. Which lets me know that when I do it, I could be missing out on an Angel. Again thank you. I pray God’s blessing upon each of you.
I’m glad that this article has blessed you. If we are honest, we all struggle with judging the poor over loving the poor.
This is something I have to continually go the Lord about as well.
Sometimes it might be helpful to have snacks and water in your car so you can give them what you need.
Of a deep truth, there is nothing that makes the soul free from the entanglement of the devil and come out of the ensnares of the demons like giving to the poor; particularly those who are sincerely in need. These scriptures are very helpful for our daily reflection and application in our relationship with others. Glory be to God in the highest. Be eternally blessed.
These scriptures are a great reminder that we need to quit selfishness. God gave us so that we can share. Everything belongs to Him and we are sinners just as those who are needy. God has His own reasons why he blessed one person with something and not the other.
I was really blessed with this article. Lately I cultivated the act of giving. I found out that each time I give, I find peace in my spirit. Please pray for me to have the heart and ability to give more and more to less fortunate people. Thank you.
