There is only one person that a Christian should fear and that is God. When you are fearful of man that will lead to a fear of evangelizing to others, doing God’s will, trusting God less, rebellion, being ashamed, compromising, and being a friend of the world. Fear the one that created man, the one who can throw you into Hell for eternity.

Too much preachers today fear man so they preach messages that will tickle people’s ears. Scripture makes it clear that cowards will not enter into Heaven.

God gives us promise after promise that He will help us and that He is always with us. Who is more powerful than God? The world is getting more wicked and now is the time that we stand up.

Who cares if we get persecuted. Look at persecution as a blessing. We need to pray for more boldness.

We all need to love and get to know Christ more. Jesus died a bloody painful death for you. Don’t deny Him by your actions. All you have is Christ! Die to self and live with an eternal perspective.

What does the Bible say?

1. Proverbs 29:25 Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the LORD means safety.

2. Isaiah 51:12 “I—yes, I—am the one who comforts you. Who are you, that you are so afraid of humans who will die, descendants of mere men, who have been made like grass?

3. Psalm 27:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

4. Daniel 10:19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

Why fear man when the Lord is on our side?

Do not fear persecution from man.

Only fear God.

Fearing man leads to denying Christ.

15. John 18:15-17 And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest. But Peter stood at the door without. 16. Matthew 10:32-33 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

When you fear others it leads to sin.

18. 1 Samuel 15:24 Then Saul admitted to Samuel, “Yes, I have sinned. I have disobeyed your instructions and the LORD’s command, for I was afraid of the people and did what they demanded.

The fear of man will lead to being a people pleaser.

19. Galatians 1:10 Am I saying this now to win the approval of people or God? Am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be Christ’s servant.

20. 1 Thessalonians 2:4  But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

Fearing man leads to showing favoritism and perverting justice. 

21. Deuteronomy 1:17  When you hold a hearing, don’t be partial in judgment toward the least important or toward the great. Never fear men, because judgment belongs to God. If the matter is difficult for you, bring it to me for a hearing.’
