Lilies In The Bible

What does the Bible say about lilies?

There are a lot of things that we can learn from lilies and all flowers. Flowers are symbolic for growth, temporary things, beauty, and more. Let’s check out Scriptures on lilies.

Christian quotes about lilies

“Violent efforts to grow are right in earnestness, but wholly wrong in principle. There is but one principle of growth both for the natural and spiritual, for animal and plant, for body and soul. For all growth is an organic thing. And the principle of growing in grace is once more this, “Consider the lilies how they grow.” Henry Drummond

“He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star. He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.”

“The lilies grow, Christ says, of themselves; they toil not, neither do they spin. They grow, that is, automatically, spontaneously, without trying, without fretting, without thinking.” Henry Drummond

“A lily or a rose never pretends, and its beauty is that it is what it is.”

Consider the lilies of the field Bible verses

The lilies of the field look to God to provide and care for them. As believers, we should be doing the same. Why do we doubt the love of God for us? God loves you so much and He hasn’t forgotten you. He provides for the small animals and He provides for the lilies of the field. How much more does He love you? How much more will He take care of you? Let’s look to the One of loves us more than anyone. Remember that the Lord is sovereign. He is our Provider, He is faithful, He is good, He is trustworthy, and He loves you deeply.

8. Luke 12:27 (ESV) “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”

9. Matthew 6:28 (KJV) “And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin.”
