Bible verses about curiosity
We’ve all heard the quote, “curiosity killed the cat.” Curiosity can indeed lead you down a dark path. Christians must be careful to walk by the Holy Spirit. It is extremely easy to fall into sin and Satan can entice you. All it takes is one time. People say, “why is everybody into porn? Let me find out. Why does everybody smoke weed? Let me try. I want to know about the latest gossip, let me search for it.”
In these examples you see curiosity is very dangerous. It will lead to compromising and it can result in going astray. Be careful. Keep reading the Bible. Live by the Word of God.
Set your mind upon Christ. God sees all sins. Don’t say God I’m just going to try it once. Don’t make excuses. Listen to the convictions of the Spirit. Flee from temptation and pursue Christ.
Don’t just stand there, flee. Pray for help in temptation and allow God to guide you.
Quote
“Curiosity is a kernel of the forbidden fruit which still sticketh in the throat of a natural man, sometimes to the danger of his choking.” Thomas Fuller
“Free curiosity has greater power to stimulate learning than rigorous coercion. Nevertheless, the free ranging flux of curiosity is channeled by discipline under Your Law.” Saint Augustine
“The Bible was written not to satisfy your curiosity but to help you conform to Christ’s image. Not to make you a smarter sinner but to make you like the Savior. Not to fill your head with a collection of biblical facts but to transform your life.” Howard G. Hendricks
