Praise is an amazing spiritual weapon that many of us struggle to take advantage of. How often do you praise the Lord? Are you always worried about what you don’t have or you focused on what you do have in Him? Be honest with yourself. Grow in the pattern of praising and worshiping the Lord daily.
Psalms on singing praises to the Lord
Singing is a way of expressing our love and gratitude to the Lord. My hope is that these Psalms encourage you to sing to the Lord and praise Him for His goodness.
Psalm 13:6 “I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.”
Psalm 30:4 “Sing to the LORD, O you His saints, and praise His holy name.”
Psalm 68:32 “Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth, sing praise to the Lord.”
Psalm 7:17 “I will thank the LORD for His righteousness and sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.”
Psalm 33:3 “Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy.”
Psalm 104:33-34 “I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the LORD.”
Psalm 9:2 “I will rejoice and be jubilant in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.”
Psalm 66:4 “All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You; they sing praise to Your name.”

Psalm 33:1-2 (NIV) “Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. 2 Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.”
Psalm 92:1-4 (NKJV) “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; 2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night, 3 On an instrument of ten strings, On the lute, And on the harp, With harmonious sound. 4 For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your hands.
Psalm 69:30-34 (NASB) “I will praise the name of God with song, And exalt Him with thanksgiving. 31 And it will please the Lord better than an ox Or bull with horns and hoofs. 32 The humble have seen it and are glad; You who seek God, let your heart revive. 33 For the Lord hears the needy, And does not despise those of His who are prisoners. 34 Heaven and earth shall praise Him, The seas and everything that moves in them.”
Psalm 150:2-3 “Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! 3 Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre.”
Psalm 135:3 “Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant.”
Psalm 147:1 “Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!”
Praise the name of the Lord
God is the Almighty, the Mighty One, the God of Jacob, and He is our King. Remember the names of God, especially when you are going through hard times. Take a moment to praise the Lord and reflect on His many names.
Psalm 150:5-6 “Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!”
Psalm 149:3 “Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.”
Psalm 113:1-2 “Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, you his servants; praise the name of the LORD. Let the name of the LORD be praised, both now and forevermore.”
Psalm 97:9 “For You, LORD, are most high above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.”
Psalm 107:32 “Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.”
Psalm 47:9 (ESV) “The princes of the peoples gather as the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; he is highly exalted!”
Psalm 113:1-3 “Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, you his servants; praise the name of the LORD. Let the name of the LORD be praised, both now and forevermore. 3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised.”
Psalm 132:7-8 “Let us go to his dwelling place, let us worship at his footstool, saying, 8 Arise, LORD, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might.”
He is holy
We never have to doubt God’s righteousness, justice, mercy, and love. We never have to doubt these things because we know that God is holy.
Psalm 99:9 “Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his holy mountain, for the LORD our God is holy.”
Psalm 22:3 “Yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.”
Psalm 96:8-9 “Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.”
Glory of God
We were created for God’s glory and His glory alone. Lay down those idols that are taking your heart away from God. Look to Jesus because Jesus is better.
Psalm 108:5 “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.”
Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”
Psalm 57:11 “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let Your glory be above all the earth.”
Psalm 113:4-5 “The Lord is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. 5 Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high.”
God is my rock
God is our Rock and our Safe Place.
Psalm 18:46 “The LORD lives! Praise to my Rock! May the God of my salvation be exalted!”
Psalm 18:2 “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
Psalm 71:3 “Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.”
Psalm 31:2 (NLT) “Turn your ear to listen to me; rescue me quickly. Be my rock of protection, a fortress where I will be safe.”
Psalm 31:3 “For You are my rock and my fortress; lead me and guide me for the sake of Your name.”
Praise God at all times
There is always something to praise God for. However, because we are so focused on self, we can easily forget to praise Him. Let’s start praising and worshiping Him today.
Psalm 111:1-5 “Praise the Lord. I will extol the Lord with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly. 2 Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them. 3 Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever. 4 He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate. 5 He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever.”
Psalm 44:4-8 “(KJV) “Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob. 5 Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us. 6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. 7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us. 8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever.”
Psalm 56:10-11 “In God, whose word I praise, In the LORD, whose word I praise, 11 In God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid. What can mankind do to me?”
Psalm 56:4 “In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”
Psalm 86:5 “For You, O Lord, are kind and forgiving, rich in loving devotion to all who call on You.”
Psalm 148:1-3 “Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens! Praise him from the skies! 2 Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all the armies of heaven! 3 Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you twinkling stars!”
