Meddling

Bible verses about meddling

We all have heard stories about meddling mother-in-laws and instigating friends. When you have too much time on your hands and you’re not busy working that can easily lead to sin and worrying about other people’s business. Meddling causes more harm than good. If it has nothing to do with you than let it remain having nothing to do with you. Find something productive to do and make an effort to avoid strife because strife never glorifies God.10 Helpful Bible Verses About Meddling

What does the Bible say?

1. Proverbs 20:3 It is an honor for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.

2. 2 Thessalonians 3:10-11 While we were with you, we gave you the order: “Whoever doesn’t want to work shouldn’t be allowed to eat.” We hear that some of you are not living disciplined lives. You’re not working, so you go around interfering in other people’s lives.

3. Proverbs 26:17 A person who is passing by and meddles in a quarrel that’s not his is like one who grabs a dog by the ears.

4. 2 Thessalonians 3:6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.

5. 1 Timothy 5:13 Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also busybodies who talk nonsense, saying things they ought not to.

Advice

6. 1 Thessalonians 4:11 to aspire to lead a quiet life, to attend to your own business, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you.

Suffer for good not bad

7. 1 Peter 4:15 Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler;

8. 1 Peter 3:16-17 But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!

Do all things for the glory of God

9. Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
