Bible verses about donating money
It is always good to give and donate and God will remember the kindness you have shown to others. The truth is most of us in America have the ability to give, but we’re so self-centered.
We say we can’t give to the poor so we can have money for our wants and things we don’t need. Why do you think it’s so hard for the rich to get into Heaven? Use the wealth that God gave you wisely and help others that are in need. Don’t do it grudgingly, but have empathy for others and give cheerfully.
Do it in secret
1. Matthew 6:1-2 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
2. Matthew 6:3-4 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
3. Matthew 23:5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long;
Are you storing up treasures in Heaven?
4. Matthew 6:20-21 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
5. 1 Timothy 6:17-19 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
