What does the Bible say about learning?
Learning is a blessing from the Lord. Are you growing in your knowledge of God and His Word? The wisdom from the Bible prepares, cautions, encourages, comforts, guides, and supports us in our time of need.
Below we will learn more about learning and how we can gain wisdom on our daily walk with Christ.

Learning from your mistakes
In this life we will make many mistakes. Sometimes our mistakes will lead to tears, pain, and consequences. I wish time machines were real, but they’re not. You can’t go back in time, but what you can do is learn from your past mistakes. Mistakes make us stronger because they are a learning experience. If you don’t learn your lesson your situation is going to occur again. Pray to the Lord that you learn from your mistakes and failures so that they are not a recurring theme in your life.
1. Proverbs 26:11-12 “Like a dog that returns to its vomit Is a fool who repeats his folly. Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”

Learning from others
Pay attention when your parents, siblings, family members, and friends are sharing their past faults. I’ve learned that these are great opportunities to learn. I love talking to older people because of their wisdom. They have been there, and they have done that. Learn from people. Doing so will save you in the future.
Most people who’ve made mistakes don’t want you to make the same mistakes, so they pour out wisdom to help you to learn. Also, learn from those in the Bible so you don’t commit the same sins.
Make sure that pride never overtakes you. Never say to yourself, “I would never fall into that sin.” We could easily fall into the same sin if we are not cautious and become prideful in our thinking. “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
6. Proverbs 21:11 “When someone who is conceited gets his punishment, even an unthinking person learns a lesson. One who is wise will learn from what he is taught.”

Growing
As you age you should be progressing in life. You should be growing and maturing. Your relationship with Christ should be deepening as well. As you spend time with Christ and get to know more of who He is, then your intimacy with Him will increase. You will then begin to experience Him more throughout your week.
11. Luke 2:40 “The Child continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.”
12. 1 Corinthians 13:11 “When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.”

Learning God’s Word
Don’t neglect His Word. God wants to speak to you through His Word. When you are not in the Bible day and night you are missing out on what God is trying to tell you. God is constantly teaching His children, but we are oblivious to how He speaks to us through His Word because we are not getting in the Word. When we do get in the Word we should expect God to teach and speak to us.
Tom Hendrikse said. “Spend time in the mind of God and your mind will become like the mind of God.” These are some powerful truths. Don’t become spiritually lazy. Be diligent in the Word. Get to know the living God! Joyfully look for Christ in every page! Regularly reading the Bible is how we grow in obedience and remain on the path that God desires of us.
15. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

Pray for wisdom
God always gives wisdom. Don’t neglect what God can do through prayer. There has never been a time when I needed wisdom for something and God didn’t give it to me. God is faithful to give us wisdom in our time of need. Many of the storms in my life ended when God answered prayers for wisdom.
