What does the Bible say honoring your father and mother?
These verses emphasize the biblical call to honor, obey, and respect parents. My parents aren’t perfect, and neither am I, but one thing I learned from a young age is that I’m called to love and honor the parents that God has blessed me with. Your parents won’t always be with you, so make sure that you pray for them, talk to them, listen to them, and enjoy them.
Let your mom know, “Hey, I appreciate that,” or tell your dad, “Thanks for all of your help.” Sometimes as parents, we hold things in and we’re strong for our children, but inside we are dealing with a lot. A little encouragement, especially from our kids, goes a long way. Always remember this: when you honor your parents, you are honoring the Lord. Also, honoring your Christian parents makes life easier for not only them, but you as well. Let’s dive in!
